@DoesItDoom is such an inspiring channel. Check out this new pedal, which is a recreation of Tony Iommi's signal chain including an emulated dimed Laney Supergroup tube circuit (using FETs), AND replicates the voicing of the amp's bass channel (normal channel), plus a specially tuned Rangemaster type treble booster, which can be blended in with the amp. The pedal features just one volume knob for convenience (there is an additional internal master volume level), and at zero you will just hear the Laney Supergroup circuit on its own without the treble booster. Moving to around 9 'o clock, the treble booster starts making itself heard. The benefits of the treble booster are clear as the distortion increases, but also cuts off a bit of the lows to deliver a 70s cutting distortion, and you can dial back on the guitar volume to get the cleans back in. I used the pedal straight into a medium crunchy plexi amp, but you could use it into your effects loop and bypass your own preamp altogether.
Signal chain:
Gibson SG Iommi replica with JD P90 pickups and 008 strings (can you tell?)
Doesitdoom Walpurgis pedal
Kauffmann 50w Mk1 amp (volume 7)
Boss Waza Tube Expander using a Greenback 4x12 straight into Macbook
No added effects
