Hello and welcome to another history documentary by Charlie Dogwood. That's me.

Today we're discussing Japanese organized crime. While the Yakuza are traditionally associated as THE criminal group in Japan, harsh anti-Yakuza laws have made it so that young Japanese criminals will no longer formally join them many times.

Instead these young criminal become Hangure (半グレ) and one of the largest Hangure groups in Tokyo's history is the reformed Bosozoku bike gang network known as Kanto Rengo (関東連合). While they would never be mafia bosses or mobsters in the traditional sense - not wearing suits but trendy Shibuya fashion, they would gather up plenty of cash and cozy up to plenty of celebrities.

However all of this came at a cost - they weren't the only gang in Tokyo and if they wanted to be the kings, they would have to take out a pair of brothers who seemed impossible to take down...
