This is a homemade whole food plant based granola recipe you'll return to again and again.
It's DELICIOUS! And super easy to make. In this video I'll show you how.

My Homemade Crunchy Granola is mostly fruit-sweetened, and made entirely of whole food plant-based ingredients.
It's also vegan, oil-free, and gluten-free.
We'll be using some of the Vanilla Cinnamon Fig Butter I made in my last video.

Ingredient Notes:
⭐️ Fig Butter
Make your own ( • How to Make Fig Butter - Easy recipe with ... ) or buy some at Trader Joe's, or substitute your favorite store-bought apple butter or pumpkin butter, or use applesauce plus an extra teaspoon of cinnamon. Check the label before buying to verify that it's made of whole food ingredients.
⭐️ Hazelnut Flour (aka Hazelnut Meal)
You can make your own, like I do, by grinding whole hazelnuts in the dry-blade container of a Vitamix blender, or buy hazelnut flour already ground (Bob's Red Mill is a good brand), or substitute almond flour, which works great!
⭐️ Ground Chia or Ground Flaxseed (aka Flaxseed Meal)
Chia and flax are interchangeable for this recipe. I usually buy chia seed already ground, because it's a very hard seed and difficult to grind at home. However I grind my own golden flaxseed (because golden flax tastes better than brown) in a NutriBullet blender as needed, to preserve the nutritional value of the flax. ⭐️ Raw Walnuts & Pecans
Feel free to substitute your favorite nuts and seeds. Pistachios, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds... Whatever you like!
Homemade Crunchy Granola Recipe (Whole Food Plant-Based)
Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup hazelnut flour or almond flour
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup raw walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup raw pecans, chopped
1 tsp cinnamon (or 2 tsp cinnamon if using applesauce instead of fig butter)
2 Tbsp hemp seeds (aka hemp hearts)
2 Tbsp ground chia seed or ground flaxseed
1/4 cup fig butter, apple butter, pumpkin butter, or applesauce
1/4 cup almond butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (only 1 ingredient, check the label)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F, and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, hazelnut flour, sliced almonds, chopped walnuts & pecans, and cinnamon. Stir well.
In a smaller mixing bowl, combine the fig butter, almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
Transfer the wet ingredients to the large mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir well until everything is evenly incorporated.
Turn the granola out into your prepared baking sheet. Spread it evenly over the pan.
Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven and flip the granola with a spatula. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
Allow the granola to cool completely in the pan. It will continue to harden and get crunchier as it cools. Store in an airtight container.
