The LPKF ProtoLaser U4 provides high precision, rapid laser etching without resist or chemicals. With an LPKF 355nm UV laser source, surface metal can be isolated and removed creating traces as small as 50µm and spacing at 20µm on FR4, various PTFE based materials and even certain flex materials as thin as 2 mil (50µm). The low heat also allows for ablation of various metal types on Alumina/fired ceramics with even smaller traces and spacing. The highly controllable LPKF CircuitPro software included allows custom laser tool development for drilling, cutting, pocket engraving making this a highly versatile tool for R&D applications and production-on-demand PCB development.
