Souldim's Mini Screamer & XP Booster pedals appears to be a clone of Ibañez' Tube Screamer (a.k.a. Maxon OD-808) & Xotic's EP Booster units respectively. ...or perhaps that's just what the label wanted to convey.

I've personally never had nor even heard first-hand the latter unit myself. So, I do have no idea how close (or how far) Souldim's unit is compared to the real thing. Although, against Souldim's Mini Screamer, I personally still have what appears to be a late 80's or early 90's era Maxon OD-808 with me. So, coming up with an 'A/B' demo on those two might happen soon. But, as the wise old saying goes, "if you can't appreciate the copy, then it's quite likely that you won't appreciate the original either..."

Fortunately, this channel's all about cheap pedals. Hence, the desire to seize the moment & enjoy what this thing had to offer instead - straight off the packet.

Personally speaking, both pedals got their own character & quirks. So, finding one or two sweet-spots that's gonna' work well with the tone of your guitar isn't a hard thing to do with at all, either when put in front of a clean amp or in front of a saturated amp.

For direct monitoring from the 'cube baby', I'm using an ATH-M20X headphones by Audio Technica. However, a parallel out also directly coming from the 'cube baby' itself goes to the audio input of my phone, which is just an old Samsung J6+ unit. And, upon transferring the 'ATH' into the 'J6' for previewing, there really isn't much variance at all. BUT, soon as I've watched the file/video from my desktop, which drives a pair of Bose Companion 2 Series II monitors, the discrepancies in audio quality is fairly large. Apparently, the 'ATH' trumps the 'companions' this time around, though.

Hence, quite likely, the tone you'll be hearing from your end may not give justice to how I've heard the pedal when i had it tested through my own system.
