Making Leather Straps and Belts

Making some leather belts for my tool roll.
In this film I am making a couple of vegetable tan leather belts with brass buckles for by bowl turning hook tool roll. I am making these belts the quick and easy way using rivets.....the result is a strong and functional belt, which looks attractive.
I decided to provide a bit of decoration to the belt and I used a tool called a crease to get a nice line along the edges. I heated the crease tool with a spirit lamp to get its blade nice and hot, and then ran it along the surface of the leather to get the decorative line. This works well on vegetable tan (veg tan) leather, but it would not work on chrome tan leathers in the same way. So that the belts do not fall off the tool roll and get lost, I have attached them with rivets.
