Autumn Colour in a Scottish Forest | Landscape Photography Vlog

Early morning stroll through one of my favourite local woodlands looking for some interesting autumnal colour. Not the best conditions, by that I mean no fog, but I give some tips and tricks to creating woodland photography compositions even with no light and no fog.

Luckily I found some nice compositions this morning but I decided to try a new editing technique to bring these images to life. I’ve heard of the Orton effect by several photographers but I’ve always been a bit skeptical about its use but with these images and with the R5 I found the Orton effect a very useful technique. For me the RAW files of the R5 have proven to be very flat and unsaturated, I had to claw the colours back and then just to make these compositions pop a bit more the Orton effect was exactly what these images needed.
