Since 1989 Kettil Svensson is Senior Toxicologist at the Swedish National Food Agency (NFA). He was a Guest Fellow at NIEHS, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA, from 1982-83 and earned a Ph.D. in physical biology at the Department of Radiobiology, University of Stockholm, Sweden, in 1989. He has particular experience in risk assessment of substances used in FCMs. Other areas of expertise include risk assessment of substances in drinking water, industrial chemicals, and radionuclides. Kettil gained his experience in these fields at the National Food Agency of Sweden, in the Nordic Co-operation on FCMs under Nordic Council of Ministers, in the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on materials coming into contact with food, and in the EFSA Working Group on FCMs.
