Celestial Astronomy is a very interesting subject if understood in a correct way. The teachers are responsible in a big way to make it interesting or otherwise. Even the non mariners might find this subject interesting. Capt. S.S. Chaudhari, who has been teaching the subject for last 30 years, works on this series of videos to share his knowledge and motivate the young marines. Capt. Chaudhari in this video does a numerical on meridian passage on Star. Latitude by mer-alt star usually involves calculation of mer-pass time of star, basically to check whether the sight can be taken in appropriate twilight.
