This is a brief and novice video of cabin 8616 on RCCL Voyager of the Seas out of Galveston on May 29, 2023. Cabin 8616 is a balcony cabin on the bubble (part of ship that curves out) near the elevators. We put out our free room service card each night to have coffee delivered each morning and enjoyed that on our balcony (room service phoned the cabin when they were on the way with our order...NICE!). Our bed had a strange black stain on the comforter that we pointed out to the stateroom attendant. She claimed it was clean, which we did not doubt, but no one wants a stain on their bed. She changed the bedding on request (shocked we even had to point it out). There was A LOT of passenger noise outside our cabin, but with ear plugs, I was still able to sleep. The mid-ship location was convenient, as the library is just one floor below (hubs had to work during this cruise, so it wasn't far to haul his equipment from the cabin to the library). The casino is a horrible setup and smoke filled. It is difficult to get any elbow room or even work your way to the ladies room in that casino. There is a large private gaming room that takes up space used for game tables on other ships, so game tables are forced into the main casino area causing uncomfortable congestion. We rcvd the best casino bar service from the best smile on the ship - Leonardo (I could be misspelling his name; wish I had taken his photo to get his name correct) during this cruise, and I believe he is from Russia. The dining and service was excellent! The bar drinks were great. Embarkation and debarkation were easy. We arrived at 9AM for our 10:30 arrival window and got in line to wait for check-in/boarding. The waiting area is covered and located at the far right side of the terminal building where it gets an amazing breeze. There is also a very large ceiling fan (Big Ass Fan Company) that keeps the area comfortable while waiting. Many passengers sat on the ground while waiting, but we had no issue standing. Key and suite guests were let into the terminal right at 10AM and we followed just after with a brief wait in the terminal and boarding the ship by 11 AM. (I believe the line just disappears around noon when the they take down the barriers and open the main terminal doors for general boarding.) We were not able to do our safety briefing check in at the designation location until 11:30 (when crew is slated to begin) then we had lunch in the Windjammer. Romielynn and Jude were our dining room team on deck 3 for early dining and provided excellent service. (We were originally assigned a large shared table but requested a private table the first night, as we were being seated, and were immediately provided an alternate table.) There was always a selection of deck chairs available. The ice show was great and we scored great seats, along an upper railing near the bar, even though we arrived just a few minutes before the show. The piano lady in the Schooner bar was not enjoyable. We did not attend any other productions. We did not get off the ship when in port choosing to enjoy the ship, instead. The Voyager of the Seas is large enough that we didn't even get to explore the whole ship during our 5 night cruise. We prefer Adventure of the Seas (a sister ship) to the Voyager because the AOS casino is so much more enjoyable. :-)
