FF4 Battle 2: Boss Theme Comparison & Remixes - SFC, WS, GBA, DS, Pixel Remaster, +10 Versions

This video compares the boss battle theme "Battle 2" from Final Fantasy IV across multiple versions: Super Famicom, WonderSwan, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Pixel Remaster. I’ve also created remixes using these sound sources. In addition, I introduce ten other arrangements from different titles outside of FF4, and at the end, I remix selected versions for a fresh take.

About "Comparison & Remix":
This series focuses on listening to and comparing a single game track across its original and ported platforms. I’ve also tried remixing and mashing up these sources to truly compare their sounds and create something new. As a rule, I mainly compare versions from the same game to keep things manageable and produce quality remixes.

"Battle 2" is an especially popular track in the FF series, with many requests to feature it. Unlike the previously covered "Battle 1" (   • Listening to and remixing FF4 Battle ...  ), this song has a strong progressive rock vibe, and the bass line is very memorable. The intro includes the familiar "de-de-de-de-de-de" phrase from this era of FF music.

For this video, I’ve also added a special bonus section featuring "Battle 2" arrangements from games other than FF4. I focused on unique arrangements rather than reused Super Famicom versions, resulting in a total of 10 tracks—the bonus ended up longer than the main part! Remixing all 15 tracks at once just wasn’t possible, so please understand this decision.

In past videos, I compared tracks between original numbered titles and their remakes, but the FF series has so many fascinating arrangements that I decided to broaden the scope this time. Because too many sources can make a remix overwhelming, I picked select versions for the final mix—mainly combining FFIV’s Super Famicom version and Super Mario RPG. I hope you enjoy it!

By the way, the thumbnail features the "Mist Dragon" from each version (left to right: Super Famicom/PlayStation, Nintendo DS, PSP, Pixel Remaster/GBA). For me, "Mist Dragon" is the monster I remember most with this song—what about you?

Q: Is "Battle 2 - 4th anniversary arrange" from Dissidia Final Fantasy for arcade, not PSP?
A: Sorry for the mistake—the video label should say "arcade," not "PSP." I've fixed it in the description and chapters.

Q: Why is the FF Record Keeper arrangement missing?
A: Apologies, I missed it. I’ll cover it another time.

Q: No PS1 version?
A: It’s almost identical to the Super Famicom version, so I left it out.

Q: No PSP version from FFIV Complete Collection?
A: It’s nearly the same as the DS version, so not included.

Q: What about the mobile phone (feature phone) version?
A: The service has ended, so I couldn't include it. You can hear it on Niconico though.

Q: What about other versions?
A: Most use the Super Famicom or DS sound, so I skipped those.
