IRAN EXECUTIONS Not Halted? Iran Denies Trump Claim as Death Toll Tops 5,000

Iran’s top prosecutor has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran halted the execution of 800 detained protesters, calling the assertion “completely false.” The denial comes as activists report the death toll from Iran’s nationwide protest crackdown has risen to at least 5,032, with fears the real number could be far higher amid a prolonged internet blackout.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high as a U.S. aircraft carrier group moves closer to the Middle East — a deployment Trump described as an “armada.” Analysts warn the growing military buildup keeps the option of strikes open, despite Trump appearing to step back from immediate action.

At the UN Human Rights Council, officials voiced concern over Iran’s use of capital punishment against detainees, while Iranian clerics hurled insults at Trump and warned of retaliation against U.S. interests if Iran is attacked.
