Today's film is very similar to the Inspector Hornleigh films, with Gordon Harker cast as Scotland yard Inspector Elk, but sadly wthout Alastair Sim, on the trail of a criminal gang led by "the Frog". The film was produced by British Lion and is a rare survivor of the company's 1930s output, as a large proportion have been lost as the negatives were, apparently, junked in the 1950's. Fortunately the film is preserved in the BFI but it has never been shown on UK tv, or been made available to purchase in the UK. This copy was made available from a public domain company in the US, and is sadly missing its original opening credits.
