Signs To Look For When Inspecting A Crawl Space

Standing water inside of a crawl space doesn't always make itself visible. When inspecting a crawl space, you have to look for clues. Is there dirt residue atop the existing vapor barrier? Does the foundation appear to be wet around the lower perimeter of the walls? Do you see any perfectly level water lines on the foundation wall where water has risen to at some point in the past?

If you are seeing these signs, the crawl space likely needs a drainage service performed before any crawl space encapsulation work can be performed.
