After three years without a trophy, Bill Shankly's Liverpool started 1969/70 season well.
They thrashed Chelsea in their season opener, then followed it up by beating Manchester City. Now they travelled down to London for their first away game, where they would face Bill Nicholson's Tottenham Hotspur.
