Though it's not celebrating any significant milestones in 2025, the Air Jordan 3 is having a standout season, with more than a handful of retros in the queue.

Jordan Brand is keeping the Air Jordan 3 front and center in 2025 with the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air”, scheduled to arrive this May in full family sizing.

This bold new edition of the classic silhouette dresses its upper in smooth black leather, complemented by a suede heel overlay that adds textural contrast. The design retains classic DNA, but adds unique touches—most notably the mismatched Nike Air heel tabs. While both heels carry the Nike Air branding, the right tab is reversed, flipping the Swoosh inward to face out on both shoes. It's a subtle switch-up that gives this pair a signature twist.

Pops of blue are added throughout the upper and midsole detailing, offering an energetic contrast to the otherwise all-black build. A red Jumpman logo on the tongue keeps the branding classic, and ties in perfectly with the color palette seen on the heel tabs.

Built on tradition but not afraid to tweak the formula, the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” blends heritage elements with contemporary design cues for a release that feels both grounded and fresh.

This upcoming Air Jordan 3 will join the likes of the the Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 1 High OG "Deep Royal Blue," and Air Jordan 1 High OG "Cinnabar" which all fall under the "Rare Air" moniker for the 2025 season.
