A Career in Public Health

Leslie Petroff, MPH, shares her experience as a Health Educator with the Northeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and how important careers in public health are.

Leslie serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Pennsylvania AHEC Scholars Program – a national program for Health Professions students. Prior to her current role, Leslie worked in healthcare and served in the United States Army as an Operating Room Technician and Training Non-Commissioned Officer. Her background includes experience working in a variety of health-related areas including Workplace and Community Wellness, Human Resources, Physician Recruitment, Training and Staff Development, and Organizational Development. Leslie has over 20 years of experience in public health and is passionate about addressing health and public health issues, especially in rural and underserved communities.
