This is my fully playable Chickering Ampico Reproducing Baby Grand. This is something I bought from a Stanton auction on September 27th, 2025 (the same day as the Bill Nunn auction which was a huge distraction from this smaller mechanical music auction). This instrument was originally in the hands of a mechanical music collector in Missouri. Currently this piano plays decently and I even got the expression issue fixed! It now sounds better than ever! The tuning I will address in the future at some point once I learn how to tune pianos. The tune it is playing is "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" by Lizst. This is the same piece the Steinway Duo Art that was once at House on the Rock in the original house played through the 1990s! My now deceased great uncle heard it play that piece and always wondered if any other pianos could play this piece all by themselves. Sadly he never got to hear it but my Chickering Ampico now does play it! I tribute this to my great Uncle John who got me into classical music and introduced me to House on the Rock!
