📌 Today’s Pocket
Day 7: Zig-Zag Fold Pocket
A fun and dynamic zig zag pocket design that unfolds with charm—great for layering tags,
notes, and ephemera!
Materials Needed:
• 1 paper strip (3”x12” or desired size)
• Scoreboard & bone folder (or ruler)
• Scissors
• Glue or double-sided tape
• Ephemera (tags, labels, tickets)
• Optional: Washi tape, stamps, ink, lace trims
Instructions:
1. Cut Base Paper – Choose a decorative or coffee-dyed paper – Size suggestion: 3” x 12” strip (adjust to fit your journal page)
2. Score & Fold – Score at 4” and 8” to divide the strip into three equal parts – Accordion fold (zig-zag) the strip
3. Create Pockets – On each panel, fold down the top corners diagonally (inward or alternating) – Glue the outer edges to form diagonal tuck spots on each fold
4. Glue to Journal Page – Attach the back of the last panel to the journal page – Options: • Fold the top pocket to create a tuck and fold down to make an interactive design • Leave the pocket standing tall and create a pocket in the back with the tuck in the front of the pocket.
5. Embellish – Decorate with mini tags, lace, Washi, stamps, or labels – Add small ephemera or journaling cards inside each tuck
