Sao Jorge Island, Azores... known as the brown island is my second most favorite island. If you love nature and outdoor activities, this is the island to come to. If you plan to come here, plan to stay for at least one week. There are some areas you can only get to by hiking. If you decide to do any type of adventures, check out Discover Experience, they are amazing people that truly love what they do and are very helpful with anything you want to know about the island. Definitely try to go canyoning to rappel down some waterfalls and cliff jump.
Top places to go if you don't have much time are:
Norte Grande (this one is a hike)
Faja dos Cubres (also a hike)
Ilheu do Topois at one endof the island
Vigia da Baleia
