Jesus Wants To Take Your Guns Away

Please help me spread the word that Jesus wants to take your guns away.

When pastors say from the pulpit that God hates LGBT people, my heart and my conscience compel me to stand up to them with whatever I've got. And if the best I've got is a (nominally) clever little folk song? Then I'll sing it, and mean it. I'm not a Christian, but I've carried Jesus's words about loving my neighbor as myself very close to my heart for all my life. I've worked hard at it and I expect to keep working hard at it. Further (and I sincerely mean this) I have as valid an authority to speak to Jesus as any other human being.

Christopher Hitchens said "that which can be asserted without evidence can be refuted without evidence." So, let's go:

You say God hates queers?
I say God loves queers.
You say God hates the sin but loves the sinner?
I say God doesn't think being queer is a sin. In fact God loves God's queer children, AND God loves their queerness.
You say you have a book that says God hates queers?
I have a book that says God loves them.
You say your book was written by God?
I say my book was written by God.

And finally: I spoke to God personally just about an hour ago, and God told me all this stuff. Also, when I asked God "Did you really tell twelve Republicans to run for President, like, in person, and then none of them won the nomination?" God said "Yes, Peter. Yes, I did." And I shook my head and said "Wow, God. You have a wicked sense of humor." And God said "Yes. Yes, I do."
