Yep. This is what I do on my Friday nights. Sit around editing silly videos like this. For the record all of these songs are based on opinion. Turn back now all ye lovers of crappy pop singles and Phil Collins. Nothing but honest to god show tunes up in here.
John Egbert- Zero to Hero (Hercules): This one I think is a bit self explanatory.
Rose Lalonde- Very Good Advice (Alice in Wonderland): This one in particular I chose because I do think Rose screws up a lot for Homestuck in spite of being one of the best characters. ((Also the version if you're looking for is by the now famous convict Darlene Gillespie who was a Disney cover singer on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.))
Dave Strider- Why Should I Worry? (Oliver and Co.): This one is more based on the fact that if Dave were a Disney Character he'd be the Dog with sunglasses voiced by Billy Joel.
Jade Harley- Once Upon a Dream (Sleeping Beauty): The perfect song for a narcoleptic.
Jane Crocker- A Spoonful of Sugar (Mary Poppins): Spoons...Sugar...Whistling...All very Jane.
Roxy Lalonde- A World of my Own (Alice in Wonderland): There is a theme of intoxication in Alice in Wonderland, as well as escapism.
Dirk Strider- I Got No Strings (Pinocchio): Dirk wants to be a real boy.
Jake English- He's a Tramp (Lady and the Tramp): Imagine Roxy singing this one and the image is pretty complete.
Aradia Megido- Grim, Grinning Ghosts (Haunted Mansion): Aradia is a hard one to choose for because she doesn't especially have any identifying characteristics besides a bit of a sadistic explorer, so...Ghosts!
Tavros Nitram- You Can Fly (Peter Pan): Fly Pupa Fly!
Sollux Captor- I'm in the Middle of a Muddle (Cinderella): This one was never actually included in the Cinderella movie but you can find it on the special addition album. The line "I wish I was twins," sealed it for me, so I went with this instead of "Little Black Rain Cloud," from Winnie the Pooh.
Karkat Vantas- One Jump "Reprise" (Aladdin): Karkat dislikes his caste dictating his future, as does Aladdin.
Nepeta Leijon- Everybody Wants to be a Cat (Aristocats): I should have done the clip with Marie singing, but now try not to picture Nepeta with a saxophone.
Kanaya Maryam- Sally's Song (Nightmare Before Christmas): The weird one about this is that it can work for pretty much any one of Kanaya's relationships. She is universally the voice of reason around a bunch of psycho's who she happens to be in love with.
Terezi Pyrope- Color's of the Wind (Pocahontas): I had a theory somebody screwed up the lyrics of this song because it goes "Sing with all the voices of the mountain, paint with all the colors of the wind." I'm pretty sure it should be "Paint with all the colors of the mountain, sing with all the voices of the wind," because mountains have colors and you can actually hear wind. But then Terezi taught me to smell with all the colors of the wind, so I got over it. If you want the song I should've done for Terezi, search "Spectrum Song."
Vriska Serket- Make a Man Out of You (Mulan): Kick John and Tav's ass Vriska!
Equius Zahhak- Saddle Up (Ranger Chorus): Equius is another tough one to choose for. This song is about horses, that's good enough for me.
Gamzee Makara- Friends on the Other Side (The Princess and the Frog): Now here is why I chose this one over Court of Miracles. For starters Gamzee has established himself as a bargainer and a bit of a con man, and he isn't dead so his friends are on the OTHER SIDE. If this was Kurloz he'd be on the same side!
Eridan Ampora- Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid): Unfortunately I couldn't find a very dreary song to go with Ampora, so instead woo hoo, oh you goofy boy. You can try and tie down your girlfriend with as many racist comments and fish puns as you like but this bird's gotta fly.
Feferi Peixes- Part of Your World "Reprise" (The Little Mermaid): Feferi is the little mermaid.
Spades Slick- Be Prepared (The Lion King): Again, pretty self explanatory. He even has Scar's scar!
The Midnight Crew- Painting the Roses Red (Alice in Wonderland): I don't know why I included this but it was fun.
Snowman- Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmations): The cigarette holder is only one of the perks of this mashup.
Doc Scratch- Trust in Me (Jungle Book): Man if anyone in Disney was a pedo it was that snake from Jungle Book.
The Condesce- Poor Unfortunate Souls (The Little Mermaid): I can't believe I am a fan of two things that both have evil sea witches.
Lord English- Oogie Boogie's Song (Nightmare Before Christmas): The song in the movie had a certain Casino kind of feel which LE seems to have as well, so I thought they were the perfect fit.
