Amampondo are a nation that comes from the Embo. Their great ancestor is Sibiside who came down the great lakes.
Sibiside's children where (Mavovo,Gubhela,Nomafu,Njanya)
Njanya is the father of Mpondo,Mpondomise and Xesibe. One of the most popular king in the history of amampondo was king Faku, he is considered as the father of the nation.
amampondo kingdom are divided into two houses and some are known as the Eastern amampondo(Qhawukeni great royal house? and some the Western amampondo(Nyandeni right royal house)
present day king of amampondo is King Yolisa Sigcawu
