This week, I’m pulling back the curtain on what it’s really like working for a Russian-owned trucking company out of Chicago. From shady dispatch games to the few solid companies actually doing it right (💯 salute to Road Knights), I share the raw reality of how these companies operate — both the good and the bad.

The journey starts in San Antonio, picking up freight for British Airways, with stops in Austin and a final delivery at the Dallas airport. Instead of wasting hours in traffic, I chose to pay tolls and protect my time. But as always, the real challenge ain’t the road — it’s everything in between.

At the truck stop near the border, I had to make a tough call. I wanted to hit the gym but couldn’t find a Planet Fitness with enough room to park both my truck and trailer. And when the clerk warned me that trailers left unattended in that area get stolen fast, I knew I had to pivot. That’s the Pressure Baby mentality — protect the load and still find a way to stay consistent.

Later, I ran into some dock drama when another driver tried to slide into my assigned door. But I stood firm, held my ground, and made sure everything got loaded correctly. Of course, that meant having to count and verify every piece on my trailer — inconvenient, but necessary.

By the time I stopped for food, it was nearly 6pm. I wasn’t even hungry at that point, but I made a hummus and avocado sandwich and threw together a 1,000-calorie high-protein smoothie to make sure I hit my nutritional goals. Then I hit the gym — thanks to a little boost from Arizona RX Energy Tea — and focused on lower-body work, which is crucial when you spend your days sitting in a truck. Just when things were smoothing out, I found a giant spider in my sleeper bunk. That nearly ended the day right there 😅.

Somewhere in between the chaos and the cardio, I got into a deep dive on business finances — specifically credit card stacking. It’s a strategy I’ve been using to build capital through multiple approvals by timing applications and funding sequences the right way. Because pressure babies don’t just chase miles — we build financial leverage while we drive.

Once back on the road, it was a smooth delivery.
