An attenuator is an easy build and is super useful for getting the most out of your tube amp, especially when playing at home. It soaks up power from the amp before the signal reaches the speaker, which allows you to crank up the amp to its sweet spot while keeping the volume down to a manageable level. Also another benefit of an attenuator is reducing white noise or background noise, which makes a big difference for noisy amps such as the Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Reissue.
