Will Treeby - Pride (2025 Studio Remaster)

it's the year 2015... ten years ago I created a traditional Scottish song called Pride. Initially it was a song aimed at being proud of everything that you do, having Pride in yourself and Pride in all that you accomplish in your life. I recorded Pride on this year at the home of one of my good friends Stephen Smith who recorded it to the best of his ability on Cubase and was part of my first ever Scottish E.P : Hollow Cradle and quickly became one of the more popular songs on the track list.

A few years later I took it to another good friend of mine Mark Harvey who re-recorded it on a high end music program called East West, a program used by Hanz Zimmer, I introduced an extended intro to it and added a bagpipe VST solo at the end to give it a more authentic Scottish feel, and given the fact that the Bagpipes were VST it sounded great for what it was.

during this time I performed it at numerous gigs across Falkirk, and was greatly received by many.
I did this solo for a few years and then did it as part of Tee.N.Tee (an acoustic duo with my late father).

I then had the honour of performing it live at my late father's funeral which was the hardest thing I ever could have done but I knew he would have loved it. 🙏

Ten years down the line I took it to a new chapter in the journey by performing it at a singer/songwriter competition at Stirling University to which, once again I had the honour of winning the competition with Pride as part of my setlist. The prize for this was the opportunity to record it at a Professional recording Studio called 1790 run by a very talented sound engineer, Gavin Paterson, who transformed it into something I never would have imagined it would sound like, enlisting the help of Dru Baker (Bass Guitar), Stuart Blackwood (Drums) Barry Smart (Electric Guitar) Gavin's wife on Viola, Trudy, a good friend of Dru on Violin, Scott Figgins on the bagpipes and Tam Barnes on the Celtic Snare, and quite honestly, it's the absolute best I could ever hope to have it sound in hopes that someday I can have the honour of performing it on a Grand Stage in front of a big audience.
