The All-Granite Chapel of Menheim | Brittany’s Unique Geological Architecture

In this video, I explore the chapel’s construction and the geological story behind it. The granite that shapes this structure is the same rock that forms the cliffs and beaches around it. Even the mortar contains quartz sand, naturally derived from the surrounding landscape.

Higher up, remnants from World War II tell another chapter of history, a 1943 German pillbox built among the same granite outcrops.

It’s a fascinating blend of geology, craftsmanship, and history in one remarkable location.
