Marine Drive also called JP Ganga Path Patna or Lok Nayak Ganga Path is a major driveway in Bihar’s Capital Patna that is situated along river Ganges and connects Digha to Deedarganj via Kangan Ghat.
Marine Drive with a total span of around 23 KM connects Digha to Deedarganj. It is 16 km on ground and 6 KM on water.
The estimated cost of Patna Marine Drive also called Ganga Expressway is around 3100 Crore. The project is a joint venture between Bihar government and HUDCO.
The purpose of Marine Drive Gangaor Expressway is to decongest the traffic between East and West Patna.
There are several connecting points on this road or JP Ganga Path that include Atal Path, LCT Ghat, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Krishna Ghat, Gai Ghat, Kangan Ghat and Patna Ghat.
Marine Drive Patna also connects three major bridges that includes Digha JP Setu, Mahatma Gandhi Setu and Kachi Dargah – Bidupur Ganga Bridge. Here it is worth noting that Kangan Ghat is an important Ganga Ghat in Patna.
With the induction of Patna Marine Drive, the connectivity across the city has increased significantly.
On the Digha side of JP Ganga Path or Marine Drive, there is a food court that remains abuzz with people in the evening.
Marine Drive is a four lane road which major part is on land and some parts in river ganges.
