The late Joshua Peter Bell in his classic book "Moreton Bay and how to fathom it" said, "Pandanus Pool: Popularly known as the 'bedroom' or 'kitchen'. One's ship is moored there, to be returned to from fishing or swimming expeditions only for meals and sleep. One finds it hard to enthuse over the Bedroom. There is a deep hole at the northern end, invariably occupied by the first arrival anchored for and aft, but otherwise it is cramped and generally shallow. At holiday times it is crowded, polluted and ashore a litterer's delight. Only light draught vessels can escape to the north around Pandanus Island." Joshua, all these years later your book is still much loved by Moreton bay people, but I'd have to disagree with you about the Bedroom - magnificent spot! Although for people who like peace and quite, mid week and not in school holiday time is the best time to spend a few days there...
