Tavistock, ON FS Model 5B Fire Siren Test 9/7/24

Since it was the first Saturday of the month, I decided to go see Tavistock. It didn't go off when I attempted it after I went to Monkton in March. It likely did not go off because the timer clock is programmed to not go off on the first Saturday in March, which was the week before the time change to daylight savings time. Otherwise, my plan to hear two sirens in one day would have worked if Tavistock had sounded. I met up with Max on this one after he went to Monkton and set it off for the monthly test. As of 2024, it appears this siren's paint has faded and is also developing some rust spots on the housing, however, it is nothing major it would just most likely need a repaint soon. Other than that it is a pretty healthy and loud single-phase 5B.

Location: Oxford County, Tavistock, ON, Tavistock Fire Hall (260 Woodstock St South)
Siren: Federal Signal Model 5B
Testing: First Saturday of the month at 12 Noon (or + - 3 to 5 minutes)

Siren Info: This siren was originally installed on a pole at the old shared fire hall / OPP detachment location in town.
Purpose: Fire siren.
Past Purpose: N/A
