Na początku 2022 roku odwiedziłem kopalnię węgla kamiennego KWK Piekary, miejsce o niezwykłej historii przemysłowej Śląska. Zastała mnie gęsta mgła, która nadała wyjątkowy, niemal mistyczny klimat zdjęciom i nagraniom wideo.

Wspiąłem się na dwie wieże szybowe i uchwyciłem kilka ujęć – spontanicznie, bez statywu, w pełni dokumentalnie.

Dziś te nagrania mają szczególne znaczenie, ponieważ dwie z trzech wież oraz reszta zakładu zostały wyburzone. To, co udało mi się wtedy zarejestrować, stało się unikalnym archiwum i wspomnieniem tego miejsca, którego już nie ma.

🇬🇧 Disappearing Points – The Last Moments of KWK Piekary 2022

At the beginning of 2022, I visited the KWK Piekary coal mine, a place with a remarkable industrial history in Silesia. I was greeted by dense fog, giving the photos and videos an almost mystical atmosphere.

I climbed two of the mine’s headframes and captured several shots – spontaneously, without a tripod, purely documentary.

Today, these recordings are especially significant because two of the three headframes, along with the rest of the mine, have been demolished. What I captured then has become a unique archival memory of a place that no longer exists.

🇩🇪 Verschwindende Punkte – Die letzten Momente der KWK Piekary 2022

Anfang 2022 besuchte ich das KWK Piekary Steinkohlenbergwerk, einen Ort mit bemerkenswerter Industriegeschichte in Schlesien. Dort traf mich dichter Nebel, der den Fotos und Videos eine fast mystische Stimmung verlieh.

Ich stieg auf zwei der Fördergerüste und machte mehrere Aufnahmen – spontan, ohne Stativ, rein dokumentarisch.

Heute sind diese Aufnahmen besonders wertvoll, da zwei der drei Fördergerüste sowie der Rest des Werks bereits abgerissen wurden. Was ich damals festhielt, ist nun ein einzigartiges Archiv und Erinnerung an einen Ort, der nicht mehr existiert.
