„a few stories about something” is the first solo album by Łukasz Dembiński – a musician, percussionist, and traveller. His adventure with music began many years ago with his fascination for West African drum music. After years of regular concerts, involvement in diverse exciting musical projects, inspiring journeys and musical explorations, Łukasz found himself playing the handpan – a remarkable instrument with an extraordinary potential for expressing feelings and emotions in a uniquely engaging way, whose sublime sound deeply touches human sensibility. The symbiosis of numerous musical experiences and sound explorations has resulted in this very album. The record features five different-sounding handpans, ranging from dreamlike, enchanting and buoyant scales, to those more nostalgic and creating a mystical atmosphere. We will also hear the West African calabash, djembe, talking drum, dundun bass drums, and the ilimba – a traditional instrument of the Gogo ethnic group from East Africa. Guests featured on the album include Filip Filipiuk (multi-instrumentalist, visionary songwriter) – clarinet; Piotr Damasiewicz (composer, trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, traveller) – trumpet, , Patrick Kimani from Kenia – vocal and Vojto Monteur (guitarist, music producer and composer) – electronics and guitar. The album „a few stories about something” is a collection of stories about love, happiness, hope, places and people, as well as of nostalgia and longing.
