Hunter Passport III Ceiling Fan

Hunter Passport III 52" ceiling fan in white. This is another fan I found in the trash during Cleanup Week a few years back. It was actually a matching set from the same house, and I debated for a long time if I wanted to attempt completing both, but there were just a few too many things missing or beat up, so I opted to combine the best parts into one good unit. They came flush mounted and with Hunter spot light kits, one was missing the switch housing and upper mounting of the light. So I have a parts light, and got a complete light out of it. I didn't show it here because it's one of those things where the finish doesn't match quite right, and I don't particularly love the look paired with this fan. Since I stocked up on old stock Hunter switch caps of this style, removing the light entirely is less of a problem for the common finishes. Overall I was able to get one in pretty good shape, a few finish blemishes here and there and one blade is a little dinged up. These must've faced some large window with sun exposure, as one side of the canopy screw trim ring is pretty yellowed. I faced that portion away for the video. This one does have the Airmax motor, which I always think is cooler regardless of size/format. It's a great motor in any case since the design allows it to stay cooler, so the bearings tend to run really well for longer. That aside, it's your pretty standard, expected Hunter fan of the period. Performs well, decent airflow, nicely powerful on high speed. I'm not sure if this'll be a long-term keeper for me since I always need to be refining and making more space, but I do love the styling of these. They carried through the traditional trademark Passport details, but it also reads transitional with some of the soft contemporary flair of Hunter's updated parts styling. Just an overall great look.
