Lego Speed Champions McLaren W1 hybrid Hyper-car, set #77257

This is the fifth set in the January wave of Lego Speed Champions.

The first four were pretty good, and i certainly have my favourites out of the ones I’ve built so far. Lots of new parts again and more printed parts are helping to elevate the collection.

There were 287 pieces in the set so right in the middle of the 5 sets so far. There are some more new parts, some of which will certainly help for MOCs in the future.

There are some nice parts to the build, but there is definitely room for improvement, i made one small fix during the video but there is certainly some redesigning required on this one.

The nose is really way too high which spoils what would otherwise be a nice shape. How will we be able to reduce it by 3 plates in height Im not sure but I’m sure someone will come up with a clever solution for it.

The cockpit is also lacking some design attention, a little bit more love from the design team needed there.

Ok enough complaining, this is kids toy after all and the trick rear wing is a nice play feature. Not the best of the wave by a long way.

One more Speed Champions from the January wave to go, but i haven’t been able to find it yet, still sold out on the lego website. Fingers crossed I'll find it next week so I can finish off the wave before the end of the month.
