It's been so fun playing around in a new century - there are so many new and shiny things to make! These late 18th century Market Bonnets were very fun to research and drape up a pattern for, and now I have a pair of silly fun hats!
I made the brim with two different period methods, and they each have their pros and cons - the red boned brim has the excellent advantage of being able to go completely flat when not worn - good for storage! The green 'pasteboard' brim is so crisp, clean, and smooth - very lovely as a finished hat.
I look forward to wearing them at Brandywine, along with my fellow bonneted hobbit sisters :D
