Hi guys, in this video I’ll be removing the rusty old truck cab from my 3408 powered C540 Kenworth and getting it down on the floor so it can be worked on safely.
I’ll run through the tools and process for removing one of these as well as a little bit of sketchy lifting to make some space in the shop for it to sit!
Basic idea for my weekend in the shop was to get the truck into a position where I could work on it properly going forward.
As you can imagine a truck that sits on 48" rubber isn't the best thing to be climbing multiple times! Never mind the fact it's covered in rust and certain areas are falling apart....
So anyway I started to remove the cab and realised pretty quickly that I needed more floor space. The chevelle had to move, hence some janky ass lifting with ratchet straps and my engine hoist!
Following on from this video I'll be gutting it back to a bare shell and starting to weld and fabricate on the cab itself. I've got some neat ideas to incorporate into the redesign and make it better than Kenworth did at the factory!
Hit like and subscribe if you haven't already and want to keep up to date with the build! It will get more exciting, especially as things start to look like a truck again. And once it's back together I'll be putting up plenty of driving videos so you can hear that big 3408 roar
