I finished removing carriage and tailstock in preparation of an external cleaning. I presently have no intention of removing the headstock and will move on to the interior.
Up next I'll demonstrate the MG electronics and remove them. I'm quite conflicted about how to proceed with the electronics. (i.e. static phase converter, rotary phase converter, VFD driven MG, or VFD driven AC spindle motor) Regardless, I would like to pull the electronics to get things well cleaned inside as well.
