Walther PDP Pro SD vs Springfield Echelon

Factory striker fired pistols are all the rage and companies are competing for who can make the best out of the box. Make no doubt about it, Glock ruled the roost for a long time but the G19, G17 and G45 leave something to be desired. They need better triggers, sights and optics mounting platforms.

This is where we came to compare the all new Springfield Armory Echelon and the Walther PDP Pro SD. They are at the top of the field for factory features and large improvements over the standard striker fired pistol.

Both feature excellent triggers like the DPT or Dynamic Performance Trigger, prices at or below 700, optics platform which can accommodate nearly any pistol red dot available. Aggressive slide serrations, grip textures and steel magazines with good capacity.

Follow along throughout this review for what we think of two of the best out of the box striker fired pistols on the market. Neither need anything to hit the streets as a duty pistol or combat pistol! This comparison was a fun one and neither is a bad or wrong choice and some things could be personal preference!
