The National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria gathered in Lagos for a landmark executive meeting themed “The Traditional Institution: The Imperative of Its Inclusion in Effective and Efficient Governance in Nigeria.”
The event brought together revered monarchs, state governors, and national leaders — including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Etsu Nupe, the Emir of Argungu, and distinguished kings from Rivers State — to advocate for the constitutional inclusion of traditional rulers in Nigeria’s governance framework.
Speakers emphasised that traditional rulers are the closest link between the people and government, and their recognition will strengthen peace, unity, and grassroots development across the nation.
