This is the first video of my LEGO Technic detachable ropeway. I started building about a year ago, I took a lot of breaks underway though. The ropeway was quite reliable - over 95 % I think... until I changed dying batteries in the engine. It made ropeway to run around 2 times faster than before, which caused a lot of problems, mostly during detaching and cable falling off the wheels. This is why I decided to push back the full video and now release a shorter teaser from the shots I filmed before the change. Stay tuned for it!

The interesting solutions implemented here are:
the turning mechanism on the station (which was developed together with my friend: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6Ew... the rotating arm pushes the car onto a rotating platform, when it finishes traveling blockade is released and the car slides off, the freed platform returns due to the rubber band. Visible at 0:53 - 1:05
the rotating arm synchronizing system; after the arm rotates around, a pin mounted on a shaft disconnects gears which connect the arm to the drive. An approaching gondola pushes the lever which moves the pin and connects the gears again. Thus, the gondola doesn't wait too long for the arm and the situation when gondola and the arm meet at exact same moment (which would make the arm throw the gondola off the rail) is avoided. Visible at 0:42 - 0:51
the attaching system; which works without any rubber band and uses a blockade instead, the friction force in the grip comes from the tension of the rope. However, it will be probably remade due to the problems I mentioned before. Visible at 1:07 - 1:12
