"IZH Planeta-5" (IZH 7.107) is a mid-range road motorcycle designed for riding on roads with various types of surfaces. It was produced by the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant from 1987 to 2008.
The engine installed on these models has high traction at low speeds[1], compared to the same "Jupiter", which has a torque curve that rises at higher crankshaft speeds. It is possible to attach a side cargo or passenger trailer, or a universal cargo module, to the motorcycle. It is also possible to additionally install a trunk and knee pads.
To reduce the clutch disengagement force on the motorcycle, a multi-disk (7 pairs) clutch with reinforced splines of the drive disks and a cam clutch disengagement mechanism is used. Vibration dampers of the cylinder ribs together with an increased volume air cleaner are designed to reduce the noise level produced by the motorcycle. For the front wheel of the model 7.107-016 with two mufflers, a hydropneumatic suspension with a disc brake and improved ride smoothness was installed
