Icon of the Seas: Miami Arrival & Departure on May 11th, 2024

On May 11th the Icon of the Seas returned to the port of Miami from a 7 night Eastern Caribbean and Perfect Day in CocoCay sailing. She then prepared to set sail on a 7 night Western Caribbean and Perfect Day in CocoCay sailing. Sailing round trip from Miami she made stops in Honduras and Mexico as well as the addition of CocoCay in the Bahamas.

The morning started out early with the Icon needing to maximize time to turn such a large ship around which meant entering the harbor shortly after 2am. She sailed into the channel past the famous Miami beach where even at the early hour some people were there to watch her arrival. She then sailed down the channel past the terminals and several navy vessels in port for Miami Fleet Week 2024. Once she reached the end she took a very slow turn around in the turning basin before heading back up the channel to dock at Royal Caribbean's Terminal A.

Once docked the MSC Seascape and Carnival Horizon each made their own arrivals following the same route to the turning basin and docking. In the afternoon the Carnival Horizon departed first, sailing past the Icon of the Seas followed by the MSC Seascape. The Icon of the Seas then made her own departure backing up from Terminal A before setting sail down the channel through a very busy harbor. She then made her way through the channel past the beach where tons of people watched her sail by as her massive size led to a huge wave following the vessel out to sea. Once at sea she passed the Wonder of the Seas who was heading back to Ft. Lauderdale.
