Two funny scenes from Curb Your Enthusiasm, S7E6, The Bare Midriff with Larry David and Richard Lewis (and Jerry Seinfeld)
00:00 Lunch at the Deli
01:51 Phone Call
In the first Lewis scene, Lewis is late to lunch and neither Jerry nor LD wants to move over in the booth, as this would require giving up the "luxury suite."
In the second Lewis scene, an irate Lewis calls LD, starting off with, "Larry, it's the invisible Jew, Richard Lewis. Remember me?" A surprisingly apologetic Larry says he'll "slide down" next time. Lewis agrees to keep the signed Joe DiMaggio in his car, to give to LD next time they see each other.
The third and final Richard Lewis scene is not included. I was debating whether to show it, but I thought it was cleaner with only these two (I'm not just talking about the use of profanity either!). Nevertheless, it is a funny scene that ties the previous Lewis incident to the road rage flashback. And the scenes after that really make this episode come full circle.
I thought this episode had some of the darkest, and most offensive humor in the entire series, mainly with the flashback to the road rage incident and somewhat with the "weeping" Jesus picture. (This is coming from someone who really liked the movie Burn After Reading.) Fortunately, the overall episode wove all the storylines together with so much polish; it had so many other funny situations as well, like stealing the napkins and the resulting lineup at the police station. I couldn't help but be enamored the episode!
