The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band start their public displays along Atholl Road in Pitlochry, during the town's New year's Day street party on 1st January 2020. The is usually an annual event, but sadly cancelled for 2021 due to Covid-19.
The band are led by Drum Majors Sarah Paterson, Kenny Forbes and Alister Walker. The tunes played include, 'Wings', 'The Braes of Killiecrankie' and the 'Rose of Allendale'. The Vale of Atholl are a competing band at various grades and wear Muted MacNaughton tartan. Pitlochry in HIghland Perthshire, Scotland, hosts an annual street party on the main road on New Year's day, with large scale ceilidh dances and displays by the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band.
