I started singing this song live in 2009. I asked our then band, Driven Acoustic, to to add another coda towards then last part of the song, before going back to the first line of the chorus to create an emotional cliffhanger for the ending. We also lowered the key half a step so that I could do some belted adlibs towards the end.

It’s been a part of our repertoire that people who constantly watched our gigs closely associated this song with me. Some of them still, even up until now.

Back to the story: 2 years later, 2011, I became album songwriter, voice coach, and road manager to VFort Band. We taught this song and particular arrangement to the boys to perform in their guest appearances. Later on, with the help of Kuya Eric Narvaez, we arranged & produced a proper studio demo of this version that incorporates an acoustic yet festive vibe to the song, which both sounded classic & current at the same time. 🎤

I had the honor of connecting and virtually meeting the iconic original artist & writer behind this OPM Treasure: Mr. Archie D himself. Whenever I perform the song, I ask for his kind and generous blessing. Yesterday, he so graciously said yes once more. 🥹
