While Indian markets crashed, they managed to outperform their global peers. European markets sank, and Asia faced a sharp downturn, with Nikkei entering bear market territory and Hang Seng nosediving 13%. US futures sank 4%, raising fears of a 'Black Monday' redux. The India VIX surged 60%, while mid and smallcaps shed nearly 5%. Over 600 stocks hit new 52-week lows as the market turmoil deepened.
