IEBC conducted the Wajir West Constituency by-election on 25th April 2019.
The by-election was occasioned by a successful election petition in the constituency that saw the incumbent MP Ahmed Kolosh lose his seat following a decision by the Supreme Court on 18th January 2019 that nullified his win citing irregularities at Qara polling station.
The court noted that the number of votes cast at that polling station exceeded that of registered voters.
Ahmed Kolosh successfully defended his Wajir West parliamentary seat in a by-election. The MP said Mandera County leaders stood with him during the by-election and feel grateful for the support.
The MP joined other leaders in a fundriasing drive for a mosque in Rhamu town.
