6880 Betton Grange Steals the Show: West Somerset Railway Grange Manor Hall Weekend Gala - 2024

A short trip to the West Somerset Railway, for their ‘Grange Manor Hall Weekend’, a small gala with an intensive timetable. Recently completed GWR Grange Class, No. 6880 ‘Betton Grange’ was the star of the show. Originally booked to visit earlier in the year at the WSR’s Spring Steam Gala, the loco was unable to attend as the Grange wasn’t completed yet; the visit was postponed to July. The Grange ran alongside other GWR 4-6-0s including 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’ from the Great Central Railway, 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’ from the Severn Valley Railway, and WSR flagship loco, 7828 ‘Odney Manor’.
