Pope Francis has said he is "deeply moved" by the death of 23-month-old Alfie Evans at Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Balloons were released outside the hospital in memory of the little boy at the centre of a legal battle that ultimately gave doctors the right - against his parents' wishes - to withdraw his life support treatment.
