On February 11th, join us for an inspiring BK Talks session, organized in collaboration with EXTREME Architecture, featuring Yasmeen Lari, Pakistan’s first female architect and a renowned pioneer in sustainable, low-cost, and zero-carbon housing.

Lari is celebrated as the ‘architect for the poorest of the poor,’ dedicating her career to empowering marginalized communities through her barefoot social architecture program. Her work prioritizes social and ecological justice, enabling communities to break free from poverty through sustainable, disaster-resilient, and donor-independent solutions. A humanitarian architect, historian, conservationist, and philanthropist, Lari co-founded the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, which champions the conservation of her country’s rich architectural heritage.

In this special BK Talks event, we will explore Lari’s vision and approach through a conversation between the architect, a group of students, and the audience. This is an opportunity to examine architecture’s potential as a catalyst for justice and equity.
